Will the Real Michael Jackson Please Stand Forward?

On a sunny day in August 2024 I was on an Internet forum which is not known for its MJ friendly stance.

I came across this post:

I wonder if he dropped his fake, breathy, feminine way of speaking around her, and used his normal (and shockingly DEEP) voice most of the time?

Based on this post I found myself deep down the rabbit hole of Michael Jackson’s real speaking voice.

I was shocked to learn that his voice is deep. It changed my whole perception of him. I thought if his voice is different than what else is. I need to re-think everything I know about him. Start from scratch.

Here are the results of my research. I share only the information that I’ve thoroughly researched, verified, and deemed to be credible.

“Which side are you on?”: I am on the side of the facts. I trust that they lead me to a reality I can live with.

“Do you think he is guilty or innocent?”: As a survivor of abuse I would never be lenient towards abusers. This subject deeply affects me, and I am open to the idea that he may indeed be guilty.

But I don’t think he is.

For those curious, here’s a quick rundown: I’ve liked Michael Jackson’s music since I was 10 and even saw him live once. At that point I was convinced that all these allegations couldn’t possibly be fabricated although I wouldn’t go as far as saying I believed them. The perpetual state of uncertainty many of us know and dread. I didn’t really start researching until 2024.

Is it ethical to publish private information about a person who clearly didn’t want that?

We’ve given this a lot of serious thought. It is a dilemma. On one side, we want to honor an individual’s desire for privacy and avoid being like those who exploit him. On the other side, we feel that enough is enough; there have been too many falsehoods circulating that need to be addressed.

Maybe it is necessary to make private information known in order to help and change the tainted public perception of someone’s image. Real Michael Jackson reveals personal insights, and we believe there’s a certain elegance in presenting the facts. Embracing the truth can be both humbling and liberating – it connects us in our shared humanity. The private Michael was undeniably human, exceedingly normal, and real.
